As World Tequila Day approaches, Don Julio is encouraging South Africans to experience tequila beyond the traditional shot, placing the spotlight on craftsmanship, premium serves and elevated social occasions. Through a nationwide campaign spanning Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, the luxury tequila brand is inviting consumers to discover the artistry behind every bottle.
At an exclusive media experience attended by CultureCollecter, guests were taken on an immersive journey through the Don Julio portfolio. Guided tastings showcased the distinct character of each expression, while expertly crafted signature cocktails and curated food pairings highlighted the versatility of premium tequila.
One of the standout moments of the experience was the Don Paloma, Don Julio’s signature cocktail, designed to showcase the fresh and vibrant profile of Don Julio Blanco. Paired with thoughtfully selected culinary experiences, including fresh oysters and other complementary dishes, the event demonstrated how premium tequila can elevate modern dining and social occasions.
Throughout World Tequila Day week, consumers can also enjoy Don Julio signature cocktails at participating premium venues including Rockets in Durban, OKIO and CE LA VI in Johannesburg, and LIV on Bree in Cape Town. The initiative aims to encourage a more intentional appreciation of tequila while celebrating the moments shared with friends and family.
Beyond the on-trade experience, Don Julio is extending the celebration nationwide through participating Pick n Pay stores. From 20–26 July 2026, customers who purchase any bottle of Don Julio Tequila (excluding Don Julio 1942) will receive a complimentary six-pack of Fitch & Leedes mixers while stocks last, making it easier to recreate the brand’s signature serves at home.
