BLANK COLLECTION – A SOFT TOUCH
ABOUT BLANK COLLECTION
BLANK COLLECTION is a South African streetwear clothing brand that started in the year of 2016. BLANK COLLECTION focuses on uniting street and sports wear providing unisex style for both men and women.
In the Late 2016 years, the original name of the brand was called Antidote Panda. The founder then changed it to something easier without too much meaning but would say a lot, something with a four to five letter word similar to international brands like Nike, Adidas, etc. and that’s how the name ‘BLANK’ came about.
The Inspiration behind BLANK COLLECTION's Brand Growth
The business of the brand got to a bigger market when they started designing blank caps to bomber jacket’s and got more recognition that put them on the map when media personality Scoop Makhatini saw Blank’s Instagram post of a yellow jacket an image of a panda on it.
Scoop went onto buying the Blank brand in the early days of 2017, to wearing the brand on the Turn Up on Channel O which got the brand a lot more exposure. Eventually, well-known South African actress Khanyi Mbau started buying from them and the rest was history.
BLaNK COLLECTION's Collaborations & Accomplishments
Blank Collection went on to reaching greater heights, by landing a feature in the Mercedes Benz x AFI Fashion Week back in 2017, as well as supplying five schools with Matric Jackets. In 2019, Blank Collection had a solo fashion show sponsored by Kulture Kollective and was awarded as 011 Clothing Brand of The Year.
By 2020, Blank has officially been announced as one of the biggest brands in the year: collaborating with Reebok; winning the ASEAWARDS CLOTHING BRAND OF THE YEAR and hosting a pop up store for the first time in Cape Town.
