Usimamane Releases New EP Baby Tai, Led by Motivational Anthem “Racks”

South African hip-hop standout Usimamane officially releases his new EP, Baby Tai—a focused, confident body of work that captures ambition, hunger, and forward momentum at a pivotal moment in his career.

Released under Gamma.Africa, the six-track project arrives alongside its hard-hitting lead single “Racks,” an unapologetic money anthem aimed squarely at go-getters, self-starters, and anyone locked into the grind.

Racks is all about money, drive, and mindset,” says Usimamane. “That’s why I’m dropping it early in the year—it’s motivation for everyone who’s tryna get paid.

The track draws inspiration from a defining meeting with global hip-hop heavyweight Rick Ross in January last year—an encounter that sharpened Usimamane’s focus and reinforced a disciplined, results-driven mentality. “All we spoke about was getting to the money by all means necessary,” he adds. That energy is felt throughout “Racks,” which channels clarity, confidence, and an unfiltered pursuit of success.

Baby Tai holds deep personal significance for the Umlazi-born artist, releasing at 12:01 AM on his birthday, symbolizing growth, self-belief, and the start of a new chapter. Sonically, the EP blends rap, trap, and melodic R&B, balancing raw emotion with polished execution and introspective moments.

Across the project, Usimamane reflects on his evolution—from the realities of Umlazi to national recognition—while staying rooted in authenticity and lived experience. Baby Tai is not just a statement of intent; it’s a snapshot of an artist stepping fully into his purpose.
