TOP 16 YOUTH-OWNED BRANDS AWARDS NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

Are you a youth-owned South African brand and between the ages of 18 – 35? Then the Top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards are a platform for you. These awards have officially launched and nominations are open to nominate your brand or a brand of your choice on https://top16yoba.co.za/nominations/

When the awards were initially launched, they were housed under the Pat on Brands website. They now have their own website which is www.top16yoba.co.za .  The top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards are an award ceremony that celebrates the young, gifted and determined youth of South Africa who own brands and contribute to the economy. The ‘16’ in the title represents the history that the youth of 1976 made on the 16th of June. With the high unemployment rate within the youth, these brands try to bridge the gap by creating jobs for their fellow youth, contributing to the economic growth of South Africa.

Last year, the award ceremony consisted of 15 categories, namely; Accessories, Beverages, Agriculture, Beauty, Apparel, Homeware, Media, NPO Charities, Education, Personalities and Influencers, Footwear, Food, Travel and Tourism, Technology, Services. This year, our 16th and newly added category is Health and Wellness.

The awards were established by entrepreneur Pat Mahlangu, and he mentions what people can expect when attending this year’s Top 16 youth-owned brands awards, “This year, we plan on having an expo that will consist of different youth-owned brands from around the country. Imagine a mall with only African brands. This will not only put us on the map but also create economic wealth for our country.”
