NEW SOUTH AFRICAN BOYBAND  ‘DEY SAY’  ANNOUNCE DEBUT SINGLE  ‘CALLING FOR YOU’

FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN BOYBAND FOR CLOSE TO TWO DECADES FORMED OUTSIDE OF A REALITY TV SHOW

Johannesburg, South Africa Today marks an exciting moment for the South African music scene as boyband Dey Say announces the release of their debut single, “Calling For You”. Aged between 16 and 21, members JDre,Chad, and Elim are ready to introduce their unique sound to the world. Dey Say stands out as the first South African boyband in two decades not formed through a reality TV show—a exciting milestone for the African pop landscape.

Previously known as CLJ, the group first found viral success on TikTok, amassing hundreds and thousands  of views and over 75,000 followers with their signature mashups of current pop hits and nostalgic old-school jams. Their innovative sound and magnetic performances captured the attention of South Africans nationwide. Noticed by Leanne Manas, the presenter of SABC2’s flagship morning show Morning Live, the band was featured after a live on-air search to find them, an event that touched the hearts of viewers across the country.

Fast forward nine months, and the boys of Dey Say have been hard at work in the studio, refining their sound and revamping their image. The result is Calling For You—a catchy debut single that perfectly blends upbeat pop hooks with the rich, rhythmic elements of South  African music. It’s a refreshing and exciting addition to the global boyband scene, setting Dey Say apart with their unique fusion of genres.

Elim added, “‘Calling For You’ is the beginning of something new for us. We’ve grown as artists, and this track really shows who we are.”
