Inside Brutal Fruit’s Pink Table Launch: Where Glamour Met Genuine Connection

On April 2nd, Brutal Fruit Spritzer hosted a standout press launch at Cavalli Wine Estate in Cape Town to unveil The Pink Table—a global movement celebrating the power of women coming together. Staying true to its ethos of blending aspiration with accessibility, the brand announced that The Pink Table will travel to the City of Lights during Paris Fashion Week 2025. There, Brutal Fruit will bring together its community of fans—affectionately known as “besties”—from South Africa and around the world to connect, celebrate, and create unforgettable memories in a dream-worthy destination.

Candice van den Bosch, Brand Director for Brutal Fruit Spritzer, emphasized that the brand’s strength has always come from listening to its audience. Since its inception 23 years ago, Brutal Fruit has evolved by tapping into what its besties really want. This instinct led to the 2018 launch of Ruby Apple Spritzer, a bold yet delicate twist on traditional apple cider that quickly became the go-to drink for South African women.

The rise of Ruby Apple gave way to the organic growth of “Saturday Spritzers”—weekend gatherings that became a hallmark of the brand. These moments turned into a cultural touchpoint, earning Brutal Fruit leadership in market share and voice, along with a host of industry accolades.

With an expanding footprint in Africa, the UK, China, and Brazil, Brutal Fruit Spritzer is now taking the next step.

From Local Phenomenon to Global Movement

“The brand is now elevating its Saturday Spritzers into a global movement,” van den Bosch said at the press launch. “Having seen the magic that happens when women come together in authentic connection, we believe that same energy can thrive anywhere our besties are. That’s what The Pink Table is all about.”

She noted that while the movement is going global, it remains proudly South African at its core. “South Africa gave Brutal Fruit its voice and character. The Pink Table is both a tribute to our South African besties and an invitation to women worldwide to share in this unique experience.”

The Grande Dame of the Press Launch

Set against the stunning landscape of Cavalli Wine Estate, the press launch was nothing short of spectacular. Hosted by media personality Bonang Matheba, with music by local DJs and a performance from acclaimed artist Ami Faku, the event captured the vibrance and elegance of the brand.

Storyteller and cultural icon Mama Gcina added a grounding, soulful presence, while the unveiling of The Pink Table—a striking, fluidly designed centerpiece—brought gasps from the crowd. Sculptural yet inviting, the table’s bold shape and feminine curves mirrored Brutal Fruit’s brand identity: strong but soft, inclusive but premium.

What’s Next for The Pink Table

Brutal Fruit confirmed at the press launch that The Pink Table will expand into a range of experiences, including limited-edition products and digital platforms that allow besties to host their own gatherings at home. Whether it’s a glamorous soirée in Paris or a casual celebration in someone’s lounge, the heart of the movement stays the same—creating space for women to connect and belong.

“We’re all about making extraordinary moments feel accessible,” said van den Bosch in her closing remarks. “Whether it’s at Paris Fashion Week or in your living room, The Pink Table is about turning everyday get-togethers into something unforgettable.”
